This isn’t a tool I reach for on every job, but when the situation calls for it, this VIM ratcheting flare nut wrench set has saved me more than once.
It really shines when replacing hydraulic lines in tight spaces, especially around valve blocks or bulkheads tucked tight against a frame rail where there’s little room to work. The ratcheting design makes it possible to break loose or install flare nuts without having to constantly reposition the wrench.
It’s not a replacement for standard flare nut wrenches in open areas, but in confined spots where access is limited, having this set can turn a frustrating job into a manageable one.
This is the kind of specialty tool you’re glad you own when you need it — even if it doesn’t come out on every repair.
